    1. [ILPEORIA-L] Possible Ed Purcell 1860?
    2. I got back home and was browing my indexes and came across the following entry who might be Edward Purcell, husband of Ann McGee Ridgeway Purcell (Crotz) 1860 Em Purcell Marshall Co, Illinois Steuben page 217 The Em could actually be a misindexing of a hard to read abbreviation for Edward...aka Ed. Since this is a Marshall Co entry, you may have to check with another list for a lookup of this entry to see if the family might be Ann's. It is highly likely that this is the Edward and Ann Purcell 1860 entry, because someone else found Ann and children for you in the very same Steuben township. I don't know if all of Peoria Co marriages are on the Illinois marriage index yet....rather...just how late they go. I haven't looked at that for a while. BUT....we know that the son, Thomas Purcell married in 1879 in Peoria and that shows up on the Illinois marriage index. You should check with Marshall Co directly to see if they have a possible marriage for Ann McGee Ridgeway Purcell to a Crotz/Krotz between 1870 and 1880...the most probable years she remarried to the unknown Crotz gentleman. Another thought....have you checked both Marshall Co and Peoria Co for a probate/will for Edward Purcell? Since there were children involved, surely there should be something. A probate file might give some additional clues....check even envelopes for return addresses. Hope the above turns out to be your Ann. Let me know...I'm curious. Julie Bissell Tupker
