Westphal, 72, of Anna, formerly of Peoria, died at 5 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Jonesboro Health Care Center in Jonesboro. Born Jan. 20, 1930, in Peoria to Francis C. and Margaret S. Becker Westphal, he married Martha J. Dillow in 1995 in Stuart, Fla. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Catherine (and Daniel) Vera of Chicago; one son, Thomas (and Caroline) of Chesterfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren. He was a practicing attorney, licensed in Illinois and Florida. He was treasurer and general counsel for Calhoun Manufacturing Co. in Cedar Falls, Iowa; founder and director of Hanna City Bank in Hanna City; director and president of Georgetown Life Insurance Co.; part owner and treasurer of Barrett Industrial Supply of Peoria; and owner and president of Shamrock Plastics Inc. He owned many real estate partnerships and three restaurants during a period of 30 years. Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, where visitation will be two hours before. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Resurrection Cemetery.
