Hello, I am new to this list, and I was wondering is there a website that would post some obits of the Maple family that lived in La Marsh area? Any help is appreciated. jamie

If you go the the USGenweb site for Peoria county and go to Lookup Volunteers, there are some people with cemtery book access that may look up a name for you.
I have looked in Parkview cemetery books before. I believe they are on microfilm at the LDS family history library. You can order a film at a nearby family history center.
Parkview Cemetery is located at the corners of University and Nebraska Sts. in Peoria, IL. Last I knew The Peoria County Genealogical Society was copying gravestone inscriptions for publication. I'd suggest you contact them via the web site below to check on the status. www.usgennet.org/usa/il/county/peoria1/ ----- Original Message ----- From: <KPhill2906@aol.com> To: <ILPEORIA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 04, 2003 7:50 PM Subject: [ILPEORIA-L] PARVIEW Cemetery > I just realized that this is probably a typo in the obituary. I just realized that this is probably a typo in the obituary. I bet this is Parkview Cemetery! Still looking for an index. Thanks again. Karen
Can anyone tell me where the Parview Cemetery is located and if any index is available. Thanks very much. Karen
I am looking for anyone that might be familiar with Charles W. Abbey and his 2nd wife Fannie Jones. I have all the census and obits for him and I know their marriage date. Charles died Sept 1934 and is buried in Parview. Does anyone know when his wife Fannie Jones died? Karen
The Bureau of Land Management's web site has been very useful to me. Unfortunately, it is down again. The following article is from Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter and is copyright 2003 by Richard W. Eastman. It is re-published here with the permission of the author. Information about the newsletter is available at http://www.eogn.com. - Court Again Pulls the Plug on BLM's Computers About a year and a half ago I wrote an article in this newsletter with the title, "Bureau of Land Management Computers Knocked Offline By Judge." In that article I described orders issued by U.S. District Judge Royce to Secretary of Interior Gale Norton. Judge Royce ordered Secretary Norton to "immediately" disconnect from the Internet every single computer, server, and system that has access to individual Indian trust data. The following day, many of the government's Web servers, including several containing genealogically valuable information, were disconnected from the Internet. You can read the article I wrote at: http://www.eogn.com/archives/news0152.htm. Three months later, the genealogy records were again made available online. See http://www.eogn.com/archives/news0212.htm. Apparently little has changed since 2001. In a new Memorandum Opinion and Preliminary Injunction issued this week by Judge Royce C. Lamberth of the U.S. District Court for Washington, D.C., the court stepped in again to pull the plug on the Bureau of Land Management's systems. According to the former CIO of the Bureau of Indian Affairs: "For all practical purposes, we have no security, we have no infrastructure... . Our entire network has no firewalls on it. I don't like running a network that can be breached by a high school kid." Details may be found in the court's document at http://www.dcd.uscourts.gov/96-1285as.pdf and in a recent issue of Government Computer News at http://www.gcn.com/vol1_no1/security/22935-1.html
Hi Dick, I found a Cornelia Culley, (born about 1872) daughter of Patrick and Matilda of Peoria listed in her mother's will probate as Cora WILSON. Edward WILSON was executor of the estate. The Patrick (1820-1908) and Matilda Markley CULLEY (1835-1903) are buried in Princeville, Peoria Co., IL in Old St. Mary of the Woods cemetery. There are other Wilson's buried there also. This isn't exactly what you were inquiring about, but I wonder if there is some connection with your family. -DonnaO > I am looking for any contacts, obituaries or > other information on the > following WILSON's in Peoria County. If you go to the USGenWeb Archives you can search by state. You can search any state or do a nationwide search -- maybe not the best idea as the results could be overwhelming. I also discovered, by experimentation, that is best to do a surname and given name search as the surname only search can be pretty overwhelming. Note this search is limited to the special projects of USGenWeb, does not include mailing lists, census and other archives. Thanks Dorothy. I don't think she would have, but I have ordered a death cert for an Anna J. Abbey. Who knows! But I think Frances died after 1945. Karen

I need some really good help!! I have been searching for so long for the death information on Frances A. (Fannie) Fitch b. 1873 in IL. I do not know her birth date, but I know she died in Peoria. I think it was after 1930 or 1940 or maybe later. I know it's a long shot. Her surname at the time would be Abbey. She was the widow of Charles Wesley Abbey. Can anyone offer any suggestions or help? Thanks so much. Karen
