Thanks for this posting. It is interesting to me, because my great great grandfather, who came to Peoria IL for reasons unknown to me, was a son of a Gertrude DAUM (maiden name). This may be a clue as to why he wound up in Peoria. I had never looked in Peoria for anyone named DAUM, never thought to look actually. Gertrude DAUM resided in the Eifel area in Germany, in what is now part of Rheinland-Pfalz. At the time my G-G-grandfather emigrated the area belonged to the Kingdom of Prussia. Would you have any idea of where August DAUM might have come from? I just pulled out my Peoria phone directory and there are 8 listings under the name of DAUM. HMMMMM!! And i just today returned to Denver from Peoria. I may have some other investigating to do! Bill in Denver

Hello, I am needing to find a death date for a Sarah Maple-Rice, she died between 1885 and 1900, her husbands name was Hamilton Rice, I found him on the 1900 census and it states he was a widow at that time. They were married January 8, 1885 in Coshocton County, Ohio and then moved onto Peoria County, Illinois, they lived in Logan Township. Any help is appreciated. Oh Sarah was born abt. 1865. jamie
I am wondering if anyone can tell me if they know if Alexander Anderson b. 1830 d. 1878 and his wife Anna Alexander b. 1834 d. 1904 still have markers or if there is a record in a transcription. They were buried in the Springdale Cemetery. Thanks very much. Karen Florida
You can order the military marker online. It used to be only available if there is no other marker but I see the law has changed, a couple months too late for my husband. http://www.cem.va.gov/hm.htm Cheryl Rothwell logancty@mindspring.com Logan County, IL, Coordinator, ILGenWeb www.rootsweb.com/~illogan Central IL Regional Coordinator, ILGenWeb Clark, Downing, Harding, Lucas et al
