    3. Does anyone have any type of map for the Brimfield Cemetery? Looking as a minimum to see how the cemetery is divided into sections. I am trying to make it easier for someone to find my ancestors tombstones. I do know the sections they are buried in, but do not know how the cemetery is divided into these sections. Thanks in Advance Steve -- Steven W. Hornaday 783 Westfield Ct. Sumter SC, 29154 (803) 494-3027

    3. Anyone have any information on a business in Peoria? On my grandmother's baby portrait is the name of the studio and address: Erler Sunbeam Gallery 1216 S. Adams St. Peoria, Ill. born in fall of 1891, she was probably 2 in the photo which puts this business going at 1893. I've always thought they did well with such a young child and wondered if there was any info about the business in a directory. ------------ [email protected]

    3. Hi again! Well, now that I have had time to think and get myself organize, I should answer a few questions(directed to me) about my offer to take photos of your ancestors' tombstones. For the next three weeks, I will try, weather permitting, to visit any cemeteries in the Brimfield(including Tucker's), Princeville, and Elmwood townships only. I tried to think of a plan that would be fair to everyone involved. :-) For five markers or less, I would appreciate reimbursement for the cost of the postage and bubble envelope...a total of $2.00. :-) For more than five markers, I'm afraid that the cost of the film will be added on to the cost of $2.00. I normally use a 35 mm. camera, but I could buy one of those disposable cameras for a big project like this. I could take pictures of the entrance of the cemetery and anything else that you might want...from your roll of film. Best regards, Janine

    3. Despite the horror stories about Springdale Cemetery, I was pleasantly surprised to find a helpful staff person when I went there in person about ten days ago. I actually arrived shortly after 4:30, when the office closes, and the woman reopened the office and went out of her way to locate records pertaining to the grave I was seeking, photocopying the records, and providing a map and directions to the gravesite. I'm sorry I didn't get her name, because she was truly helpful and interested in the research I was doing. The very day I visited Peoria and Springdale, there was an article in the newspaper about a new proposal for "revitalizing" Springdale. Each time I visit, more and more sections are being overrun by prairie grass. I finally located the gravesite I was looking for after about half an hour of beating back the six foot big bluestem in the Mount Prospect section. 3. I have called Springdale Cem for records. It is in bankruptcy, and tied up in court and city proceedings. There seems to be no one answering calls unless someone knows differently. I have never received answers to my calls.

Vern, All I know of the Tuckers is the three siblings, John, Samuel and Mary, Mary Tucker was married to a John King, they were my ggg-grandparents, John King died when He got to Illinois leaving a wife and 10 children behind, and shortly after this, Mary came west with her children to the home of her Brothers, and she and her husband are supposed to both be buried there. Hope this helps.
