Jeannie and others, Hello there, Just a note for you. You may be able to solve a big mystery of mine. I have a Samuel Myers who married Fannie Poffenberger. Samuel is my great great uncle (Fannie - Aunt). I have been looking into the Poffenbergers so much. I have tons of Records for ogle Co. organized on some sheets. Maybe I should post them to the list. They have a lot of helpful info and would saw people the time of research. The thing with Sameul & Fannie, they had four children, but one was born in Nebraska. The others in IL. But the Poffenbergers came from Washington Co MD (with the Myers also). Most of my families came from there. I was raised in Ogle Co. IL and recently moved from there. But I know the area very well. There are a few places you could stay. I will post a note that may help you. We are having a family reunion in July at White Pines state park in Ogle Co. So it has phone numbers and information that will prove helpful. Any one who is interested in this is more than welcome to come. My family there is related to almost every one there. i have studied the co. alot. How far from the airport to the library and place to stay that is very close. I'm mainly interested in the library but I'm sure I'd rent a car and try to find the places where my ancestors lived. Last year I went to Nebraska just on a quick day trip from Indep. MO while visiting my mom, and earlier this year I went to the old homestead in Washington County, saw the gravesite etc. It seems that there is so much information to be had in Ogle Co. and I really want to get my hands on it!! Any info is greatly appreciated, but please don't go to any trouble, just off the top of your head info.
