    3. Hi Bryn, I have 2 children of Daniel and Mary Malone m. 5/12/34 Wash. Co. Margaret Ellen b. 9/25/1835 Wash Co. MD d.11/20/1896 m. Daniel Fouch 4/8/1856 Mary Ann 10/1859-11/1859 Louis b. ca. 1858 Albert 1860-1935 Della b. ca. 1865 Daniel b.ca. 1866 James L. aka George Washington Richardson b. Mar 1837 d. 1901 Mary Malone died April 1837, these children lived with their grandparents in Maryland until their gfather died in 1845, then they moved to OIge Co. They are on the 1850 census, Susan Malone is head of household (gmother). The reason I know about the change of name is James is my gggrandfather and my maiden name is Richardson. He served in the Civil War as Poffenberger but by the time he married in 1881 he was Richardson. But back to James/George's father Daniel. I do not think he is the Daniel who married Sophia Palmer and here are my reasons: 1. Daniel and Mary Malone married in Wash. Co. she lived/died and is buried there. Sophia is from Fred. Co. and she married her Daniel there. 2. Daniel and Mary were married for less than 3 years and in that time had 2 children. I assume he was approx. the same age as she was, so he was 19-22 while they were married. Sophia got married in 1849 - 12 years after the death of Mary Malone. So he went from 22-34 years of age without being married. I think this is highly unlikely. 3. A Daniel married Barbara Miller in 9/5/1839 in Wash Co. and lived there with her until they moved to Ogle Co. between 1860-65 when he died. I think this is much more likely a match for Mary Malone's Daniel. I have been to the farm where she is buried and the Miller farm is just over the hill from it. Also this is only 2.5 years from the time Mary Malone died. 4. In Lightsville Cemetary there is a Daniel buried 1865, on that same page is James P's brother-in-law, mother-in-law, and 2 of his children. On the next page is Mary Malone's brother James, his wife, wife's parents and brother, and their 2 daughters and spouses. On the next page in Daniel and Barbara's son Walter Scott and his wife. On the next page is James Malone's son Alfred and his wife and son. So, whew, these are the reasons that I think Mary Malone's Daniel married Barbara Miller second and not Sophia Palmer. I have all the stuff on James/George's (my) family if it of interest to you Jeannie ---Brian Hulleberg wrote: > > Jeannie, > > Here is some news that may prove helpful. What did Daniel do in between 1837 - 1854? Thats a good 17 years. Could he have had another wife in there? > > What children do you have for Daniel & Mary Malone? i don't have any. So any would be great. You say Daniel and Mary Malone had a boy that changed his name, how did you find that one out. Great news too. > > Also, i show Daniels parents as Henry Poffenberger Sr & Catherine Bogner. > > Let me know what you think.
