Hi List, I wanted to write and let people know that there is an on-going project to record all the cemeteries in Ogle County and get these on line through the web site for all to see. If you live near Ogle and would like to help out we would be more then happy to have you volunteer. Below is the link to the project page. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilogle/CemeteryProject.htm This is not a hard job, but could be time consuming depending on how big the cemetery is- but it entails walking the cemetery and recording all that is on the head stone, with any notes you see needed. Such as "broken stone" "Hard to read" or if another name is on the headstone, to add that the stone is shared with---blank-- Since I own a CD Digital camera I have taken photos of the stones and then viewed them on my computer and then entered the data into a spreadsheet. For the most part people have Excel or a MS Works spread sheet on their computers, We ask that the data is entered into the spreadsheet and then emailed to me, where I will format it to a text file that can be viewed through the web site. There is also the option of entering the data into the www.findagrave.com web site, which others have done and there is a link you will see.
