Here's what I know (or think I know!). He was born in 1830-1834 in Kerry, Ireland and died April 15, 1886 He is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Oregon., IL. She was born in 1835 in Camp, Ireland and died April 30, 1909 The 1880 census shows them living in Oregon, Ogle, IL with son James (b. 1855, I believe his by a previous marriage), son Patrick (b 1869), daughter Ellen (b. 1873) and her sons by a previous marriage - John (b. 1861) and Jerry (b. 1866) O'Conor. The 1870 census also shows James Sr., Ellen Sr., James Jr., John and Jerry, plus Katie (b 1863) and Patrick (b. 1868) Connor. Patrick from both census records must be the same son, just listed under a different last name. Now, I do find a marriage record for a James Hoare and Ellen Lynch in LaSalle County on May 18, 1866. This "works" for my couple if Patrick is really James' son and Ellen was pregnant with Jerry O'Connor when she married James Hoar. Maybe I'm stretching it?? I believe young Ellen Hoar married George Emil Colson (son of Gusttavis/Augustus and Christine Colson, brother of Gussie, Huldie, Frank and Robert) in 1897, and they had Eleanor Mamie [Greenwood] (b. 1898), John (b. 1900), Clara (b. 1902-3), Leo (b. 1905), Robert (b. 1906-7) and Gustavison (b. 1909). Now, to confuse things more, Ellen's year of birth seems to vary by 11 years - from 1870 to 1881 - depending on where I look!
