If my memory serves me correctly, that in a Ogle County census, I saw the name of Davy Crockett enumerated. Further, if I didn't dream it, the name appeared in the Rockvale Twp. census. Some time later, in an Ogle County newspaper, I was reading the results of an election. The editor said something like this; "Someone wrote in Davy Crockett's name and we know he is dead." That Davy Crockett died in 1836, but I am wondering if I really saw the name of Davy C. in the census. Does anyone know if the name appeared in the census, and is anyone aware of what happened to the Ogle census Davy Crockett. I am not interested in the Crockett genealogy. Just curious, and wondetring if my memory is correct. Leonard J. _________________________________________________________________ Dont just search. Find. The same David Crockett age 60 (Scotland) appears in the 1860 Rockvale census and 1870 along with the 1880- so it has to be a different Davy But at least you are not going crazy!
