    3. Looking for a possible tombstone or record (church or civil) of female PETERS twins who were born April 5 and 6, 1871. Abel PETERS, the father, wrote in his diary about the birth of the twins, but doesn’t indicate the birth or death place. According to the diary, the “first one saw the light of the world on April 5 in the evening at 6 PM and died after several days of illness on June 14th in the evening at 5:30 PM at the age of 2 months – less ½ hour. And the second one saw the light of the world on April 6 at 12 noon, and died the following day, April 7th in the morning at 7:30, at the age of 19 ½ hours. Their ashes rest in quiet peace” No names included with the entry. The reason they could have been born and buried in Ogle County is because on 24 March 1872, my great grandfather, Claus PETERS, was born in Ogle County. Their parents, Abel and Abbie (ROELFS) PETERS, were married in Stephenson County on April 6, 1870. Checking in Stephenson County is also an option. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. 3. Greetings, Gail, My great, great grandfather, Abel PETERS, was born on 8 January, 1839, in Neermoor, Ostfriesland, the only living son of Evert Adels and Grietje (REINTS) PETERS. Abel's only brother, Reint Everts PETERS was born 14 February 1843 and died 18 July 1849 in Neermoor. Evert Adels PETERS, 29, and Grietje REINTS, 40, were married 6 August 1837. Evert Adels, the son of Adel Everts PETERS and Oktje GEERDS, was born and lived in Jemgum. Grietje REINTS, born in Neermoor, was the daughter of Reint REINTS and Elske HEYEN living in Neermoor. Grietje REINTS-PETERS was born 30 December 1797 and died 25 December 1849. She was buried on her 52nd birthday. Evert Adels PETERS was born 25 August 1808 and died 30 July 1852, nearly 44 years old. He was buried in Neermoor. Evert Adels' occupation was a master-weaver. When my great, great, grandfather Abel PETERS emigrated to America leaving Germany on April 4, 1856 and arriving in New York May 21st, he was eighteen years old and alone as the rest of his immediate family had passed away. Grietje REINTS-PETERS added this note in Abel's diary written in Dutch "On March 15, 1847, my sister Geeske REINTS, in her 38th year, traveled to America with her husband, Arend Jansen ARENDS, and daughter Elske ARENDS (ARENTS), six years old, and her brother's daughter Elske HEYEN-REINTS, in her 19th year." To answer your question. I don't know if Adel Everts PETERS had any siblings in Neermoor, but that is a possibility. I do know that many of Grietje's siblings and cousins emigrated to America so Abel had relatives living in Illinois when he emigrated. The following is another entry in Abel's diary written in Dutch: "On March 29, 1848, Sweer Heyen REINTS, with his wife Mareke Jansen and sons Jan Heye Sikke and Hinderikus, and their granddaughter, Hilkea, the daughter of Elske SWEERS, traveled to America. Hilkea Enno Smit died during the sea journey, 8 years old." If a person checked the 125th Anniversary Book of the Silver Creek Reformed Church, Page 5, of the history, there will be similarities with the above information. About Abbie ROELFS-PETERS. Abbie was born in the evening on 25 January 1838, in Riepe, her parents Claas ROELFS and Hempe Willms LURRING. She was baptized on 29 January 1838 (according to her baptismal records). According to her obituary she grew up to her young lady hood and then came with her parents to the United States settling on a farm near Freeport, Illinois. She married Abel Peters on April 6, 1870, and remained in Illinois until 1873 and then moved to Carroll County, Iowa. To date, it is known that Abbie had two brothers, Heiko and Roelf. I don't have any additional information about her father, Claas. He may have had siblings, also, and to date, I've yet to find where Claas and Hempe are buried IF they really did emigrate to America. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or hunches, I'm willing to check them out. If any of this matches your information, great!
