It was not an orphanage, it was for children who's parents were unable to care for them due to poverty, illness etc. There is a book on Peek Home in the library. The Polo Historical Soc. will refer calls to the library. I was also told that Peek Home seems to be a strong point of interest these days, the library has had several requests for info recently.
