OREGON - Mrs. Vena M. Colson, 66, 1102 S. Fourth St., died Monday, March 20 in her home following a short illness. She was born Oct. 10, 1905, in Byron, the daughter of John and Amanda Bakener Barnhart. She was married to John Colson Dec. 22, 1926, in Oregon. She was employed as a cafeteria supervisor at the Oregon Elementary Schools. Mrs. Colson was department officer for the state of Illinois for the Woman's Relief corps, a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Eastern Star. She was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Mother's Circle of the Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and two sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Verletta Davis, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Marget, Oregon, and Mrs. Lee (Iva) Westerman, Leaf River; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
