Morris Times June 23, 1982 Mrs. Herbert J. (Lulu M.) Conner, 82, 700 N. Sixth St., Oregon, died Thursday, June 17 at Freeport Memorial Hospital Freeport, following a long illness. She was born April 1, 1900 in Boone Township (Hancock County), Iowa, to Elias and Phena Jane (Anderson) Long. She married B. Raymond Stauffer June 21, 1922 in Mt. Morris. He preceded her in death in 1931. She married Herbert J. Conner Dec. 29, 1956 in Oregon. He preceded her in death in 1974. She was a member of Mt. Morris Church of the Brethren, and attended Mt. Morris College from 1917 to 1919. She was also preceded in death by four brothers. She is survived by one brother, Roy C. Long of Freeport. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 19 at Finch Funeral Home, Mt. Morris, with the Rev. Richard C. Witmer, pastor of the Church of the Brethren, officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. There was no visitation. A memorial has been established for Pinecrest Manor, Mt. Morris.
