It takes a little long to get copies, but if you follow the directions, as to dates, places, etc. it will help you get what you want from the right place. Check out the death index marriages, etc., also military records. It is one of the best state websites out there. Illinois does something right every once in awhile. I think Roger is away.... Europe I believe... Should be back around July 22... I don't know if he has his laptop.. All death Certificates at Ogle County Courthouse are after 1916... But they do have registers, with some earlier deaths, as others have mentioned before... They don't list much just name and date of death... Nothing else.... It was not law before 1916 to record deaths... Yes State of Illinois does have a good site, and you can also obtain other items from them, I have many times. They seem willing to help...
