Following is the description of an 1878 Ogle Co. History Book now for sale on EBay: Up for auction is a rare book entitled "History Ogle County Illinois 1878". This vintage first edition book is very rare and known only to exist under lock and key in historical societies and a few individual owners. This book is in very good condition, the only trouble is the obvious wear on the spine. This book contains 858 pages of a history of Ogle county its cities, towns, etc. There is a biographical directory of its citizens, war record of its volunteers in the late rebellion, general and local statistics, portraits of early settlers and prominent men, a history of the northwest, history of Illinois, map of Ogle county, Constitution of the United States, miscellaneous matters, etc. It is nicely illustrated. Published in Chicago: H.F. Kett & Co., Times Building 1878. Ottaway & Colbert, Printers, 147 & 149 Fifth Ave., Chicago. The inside cover has writing and reads "Presented by Michael Seyster to Minnie Ridenour 1879." Don't let this rare and vintage edition slip past.
