Hello-- I am searching for information on the Erdmeier/Erdmier line. My grandfather John (P-Paul?) Erdmeier b April 1868 or 1869 in Shannon, Carroll Co Illinois. John is listed on 1870 and 1880 census for Carroll Co as stepson to Jacob Daniels. John married Malinda Rubendall March 8, 1898 in Monroe Green Co Wisconsin. They are listed on 1900 census for Carroll Co. 1920 census they are in Freeport, Stephenson Co Illinois with children Mabel b June 30, 1900 and son Paul (my dad) b 23 Nov 1913. Children born in Shannon Ill. Family tradition has it John and Malinda divorced. Malinda remarried to Chris Musselman. City directory has John in Freeport 1923 this is the last record I have for him. I think John's parents are Christian Heinrich Erdmeier and Caroline Rathmeier from Saberhausen, in Lippe Detmold Germany and they along with a daughter Caroline immigrated the summer of 1853. But I cannot prove this yet. I believe the family lived in Ogle Co Illinois before moving to Carroll Co. Heinrich died before the 1870 census as the mother is remarried.
