Hi Laurie: Thanks for the Cass family info. Just returned from a trip to Phila. where my cousin and I photocopied tons of old marriage, birth, death, etc. articles comcerning the family. There is this 3rd Calvary PA one place it says Alanson and then I find another place a Wm both of these places were transcribed from private individuals not from original documents. Wm's 3rd Cav info is from ILL State Archieves "Illinois Roll of Honor Search" ...don't know who the transcriber is but he is under the State Archieves.
