    3. http://www.outfitters.com/illinois/history/civil/cw74.html You might want to look at this site. There is also a guy named Daron Walker who is from Rockford and now edits for a newspaper in Springfield who may have some info. He is collecting information re: one of the Rockford regiments that I was looking at. Unfortunately I lost his EM addy when our computer went down in the Spring. Perhaps someone else online knows him and will send it. I would like to stay in contact with him because he is researching for a book about the regiment my GGrandfather was in. 2. Sue- If you know the township they lived in I can look up the name in a book I found at the library....it is not indexed so I have to check each township individually. I came across your query and thought if you are still looking for info the name might be in the book. If you don't know the township, I can check anyway..it won't take that long. Do you have a first name for them ? The book is called History of Ogle County,Illinois..portraits of early settlers and prominent men..1878.... -Kim (Timmons) Taft In a message dated 98-07-18 11:34:51 EDT, you write: << I have been reading the list for some time now and wonder if any of you happen to remember coming across any Norton family in the late 1860s or early 70s?
