Genealogists, particularly those interested in the use of technology, will meet in St. Louis from 22-24 January 2004 for NGS GENTECH 2004. December 1 is the deadline for the advance registration discount. Since 1993, GENTECH has been the national conference for people interested in GENealogy and TECHnology. In 2002 GENTECH strengthened its infrastructure and expanded its role by becoming a division of the National Genealogical Society. Each year the conference has featured a panel of nationally known speakers who have addressed themselves to every aspect of the use of computer and Internet technology to support genealogical research - to meet the needs of advanced users as well as those just beginning to use technology in their research. Hi Susie, I really don't know what Mary's maiden name was, but the census showed that she was born in Conneticut. I have not been able to find what her husband first name was and as you know there is a million of JEWELL's in New York. Mary's children names are; Nelson Jewell of Wayne, New York. Zardus Jewell who passed away in Nebraska, John Monroe Jewell who married Emily Biggers and moved to Illinois and daughter Olive who married Townsend Gilbert. Do any of these names show up in your Jewell line. Please keep in touch. This Mary Jewell's maiden name was Fox and she was a sister to one of my great grandfather's. I am also looking for probate records of Joseph and Catherine Hagaman (1888/1891), Charles nelson Wilmarth (b. 1840- died 1944, Ogle county), and any Wilmarth people from 1859-1899. I am also trying to find death records in that same time frame, Ogle Co, Marion township. In the Kiswaukee Cemetery, with all of my ancestors (Hagaman and Wilmarth) there is an old stone that simply says "Little Clarence." Noone has ever heard of this child, not in stories passed down, etc.Any information will be wonderful.
