List Readers, Can anyone help me re: George and Minerva Holmes, who lived SW of Waverly from about 1852 until he and she died in 1901 and 1911? They had HOLMES children: John, b. 1853, m. Permelia Large, divorced; Lucinda b. 1854, m. John Lyons; George b.1858 d. 1861; Laura b. 1859 m. Carmean; Aaron Thomas b. 1861, m. Aminta Landreth; Minerva Ellen b. 1865, m. George Groves; Edward b. 1868; Mary Ida b.1869, m. Wm. Turner; James F. b. 1872; Charley b. 1874, m. Nettie Hart. George and Minerva came from Overton Co., Tenn. Does anyone know their pre-history?
