Now all that is left remaining is R, S, T, & W. A hint on the approx. year a probate might be: The Probate # is an indication, in most cases. Obviously they started with #1 back in time of formation of the County. But the first few years, up to 1827, were lost in a fire at the Courthouse, only some deed records survived. So the lower the Probate # the earlier the year. So if you are looking for someone who died in 1837, for instance, it would not be a number as large as #7989. No doubt it would be a two or three digit number. If a number has a dash in it, such as 54-30, it usually indicates that it was for the year 1954, probate #30.
