    3. Please let this serve as introduction to the research and subsequent post that will be coming. This search I have been doing for only a little over a month and most of what I have been able to put together from census, archived list/genweb posts, Illinois statewide indices and LDS online records. So forgive any glaring ignorance I might have on this matter. These are not my relatives. This I am doing for my late wife's best friend whose maternal grandfather was Harry S. CLAYTON, the son of William H.(William H., Moses L) CLAYTON and Emma Mae SILLOWAY(SILLOWAY:Perley, Frederick W.). Harry S. was a furniture store(s) operator in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois. My most immediate roots is in Missouri where my mother and father were born and most ancestors go back there to at least third great grandparents. This is mostly in the Ozark Heritage Region but some in the French Corridor Region. I myself was born in St. Louis where I stayed until at about the age of 10-11, the family moved to Monroe County, Illinois where I remained until the finish of High School. Thereafter, four years were spent in Coles County, Illinois and then about one year in Sangamon County. For the last 30+ years Chicago has been my home. A maternal great-granduncle did live in Jersey County for a short time but for a longer time in Pike County, Illinois. As far as my Illinois ancestral connections they are Edgar County (BROWN, BRADSHAW) and Clark County (BLACK, BARTON, REESE). A collateral relative (SUMPTER) did spend time in Sangamon and Tazewell counties before moving on to Missouri as all of Illinois ancestors did. Byron Nelson
