Judi Gilker Surnames: WADDELL, GRIFFIN, THOMPSON, OGLE, PIERCE, McBROOM, MOELLRING, APPLEGRATH, ROBERTS, BINDEWALD, REAVES Obadiah (Oberdyer) WADDELL was born in Monroe County, Illinois, on April 4, 1796, the son of Jesse & Elizabeth GRIFFIN WADDELL, who came to Illinois from Kentucky a few years previous to Obadiah's birth. For a few years the WADDELL's live in Jersey County IL., afterwards moving to Morgan County IL. for seven years, and in June of 1829 in section 35, Melrose Township, Adams Co IL. Obadiah WADDELL served in the War of 1812 with Captain Short's Rangers, and took part in the battle with the Indians at Elkhart Grove. He married Millia (Milly) THOMPSON on January 1, 1817 possibly in Alton, Madison County, Illinois. He married Lucinda OGLE Nov 4, 1851 in Adams Co IL. Lucinda was born April 11, 1835 in Butler Co. Ohio & died Oct. 31, 1915. Their children were: A) Laura Corrilla WADDELL (May 4, 1853-Aug 15, 1945) Married Thomas Polk PIERCE in 1876. He was born Nov. 19, 1844 Butler CO Ohio- Jan. 9. 1925 Fremont CO. Colo. POWELL in 1882. D) Obadiah Franklin WADDELL (Aug 14, 1859-Jan 5, 1941 Adams Co. IL.) married Ida MOELLRING in 1927. Ida was born Apr. 16.1866 & died June 28, 1934 in Adams Co.IL. E) Edward Albert WADDELL (June 2, 1861- Jan 21. 1932 Adams Co IL) married Alice Henrietta APPLEGARTH in 1888. She was born April 13, 1870 Kandiyohi Co MN.-July 24, 1957 Port Clackamas Co. Oregon. 6) William WADDELL (Dec 6, 1824-July 24, 1827 Morgan Co IL) 7) Angeline W. WADDELL was born Dec. 1, 1826 in Morgan County, Illinois and died Dec 17, 1908 in Quincy, Adams Co IL. She married John C. ROBERTS on May 23, 1850 in Adams Co., IL. John C. was born Oct. 1822 in St. Louis, Mo. and died Aug. 20, 1909 in Quincy, IL. Their known children: A) Charles M.
