Allan, a lifetime resident of Morgan county, occured at 6:30 o'clock Saturday morning at the family home 6 1/2 miles south west of Jacksonville in the Point neighborhood. Death followed and extended illness. Mrs. Allan was a daughter of William and Hannah Dobson Groves and was born August 31, 1865 in the Point neighborhood. She was united in marriage with John R. Allan July 30 1885. Three children were born to this union, Jennie Belle preceded her mother in death April 10, 1911. In addition to the husband the survivors are two sons: William H. Allan of Rural Route 2 and John Floyd at home; one sister, Mrs. Belle Ranson. One sister Etta and three brothers, George, James and John Groves preceded Mrs. Allan in death. The funeral will be held at 3:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Williamson Funeral Home, where the remains were taken. Interment wil be made in Diamond Grove cemetery . Obit Mrs. Elizabeth Allan Services for Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Allan, wife of John R. Allan, were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the Williamson Funeral Home. Dr. M. L. Pontius of the Central Christian church officiated and interment was in the Diamond Grove cemetery. The funeral was largely attended. Music was furnished by a quartet consisting of Harold Hamel, Gerald Heaton, Albert McNeely and Edwin Gordon, with Miss Virginia Heaton at the piano. The numbers were "Going Down the Valley", and "In The Garden." Mrs. Earl Hempel sang a solo, "When They Ring Those Golden Bells." The flowers were cared for by Grace Middleton, Thelma Allan, Mildred Allan, Frances Heaton and Mrs. Paul Strubbe. Casket bearers were Robert Scott, Leslie Lewis, Clyde Sturdy, Clifford Allan, Scott Holmes and Clarence Ranson.
