NEW online on the Morgan Area Gen. Assoc. page (MAGA): http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilmaga/index.html 1) 1855 Greene County IL State Census Much thanks to Marty Crull for volunteering his transcription/database of this Census. It is greatly appreciated! And also thanks to Allen Handling for his part in converting this to a usable database (from DOS) and Shirley for bringing it up for me to work with. I have posted this census in two version, one by Page number of the actual enumeration, the other by Alpha Surname with census readings. Both have their advantages as one can search the surname, get the page number, then go to the Numerical/Page readings and see who the neighbors were. Always check out the neighbors, there could be a married daughter living a few doors down or parents next door, etc.. 2) Everyname Index to 1860 Greene County Census - Surnames G, O, & Q have been added. Decided to jump around instead of staying in alpha order catching some smaller files to make it look like I accomplished more <g>. Upcoming: 1) 1850 Cass County IL Census (Shirley is typing as fast as she can, which is faaaasssst! She is doing 80% of these Census we are putting online. She's doing a great job, without her we wouldn't have a page.) 2) 26 more Obits to be added to Obit page. 3) A few more 1879 Greene Co. Bios 4) Morgan County Biographies are being added to the Morgan County ILGenWeb page. Shirley has sent Morris (CC for Morgan) several. Keep watch for these. It is a beautiful Spring Day here in Central Illinois and I am headed outside for a spell.
