    1. [ILMORGAN] Early Migration Routes
    2. My ancestors migrated from North Carolina to Morgan County in 1829. Does anyone know what the most common route they would have taken or how I could find this information? John Seymour

    3. My ancestors and the Gunn family also came from North Carolina. They left NC about 1810 and settled in Dickson Co., TN. Then about 1829 they went to Sangamon County for a while and then to Wright Twp. in Morgan Co., IL. My ancestors: John and Margaret (Mackey?) Wright. Because of some of the remarks made in the bios of John's sons, I believe he was a road builder, in charge of laying out the pioneer roads and their maintenance. Why do you think your ancestors came directly from North Carolina? Do you know what county in North Carolina they came from?
