Posted on: Morgan Co. IL Query Page Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Morgan?read=226 Surname: VAN NORMAN, KAYLOR ------------------------- We just HAVE to be searching the same VAN NORMAN family in Morgan County!! That surname is not that common so am crossing my fingers and toes I have Theodore Van Norman in Morgan County ca 1863 to ca 1880. Believed they lived in the Chapin area. Theodore was married to Amanda Johnston in Knox Co OH in 1832. There were in Randolph Co IN by the 1850 Census. Amanda supposedly died in Morgan County ca1880 but I have been unable to document this. Theodore went on to Buffalo, Dallas Co., MO after her death. They had the following children: Milville; Frederick Alonzo; Lamney Cerilda who married John KAYLOR; Amanda; Sarah; Nathan; Ellen; Oscar and James. My husbands lineage connects with Lamney Cerilda who married John Kaylor. There is a short biography on Oscar Van Norman in 1878 Morgan County History: VANORMAN, OSCAR, farm hand, Sec. 8, P. O. Chapin, fourth son of Theo. Vanorman, born in Randolph Co., Ind., Jan. 24, 1850; removed West with his parents when quite young, and lived in Iowa and Kansas; removed to Morgan Co. January, 1875; married May 22, 1874 to Sarah, daughter of Andrew and Laurene Barton, of Allen Co., Kansas, born May 22, 1857. This union has been blessed by two children, viz: Norah Ellen, born July 27, 1876 and Oscar Olaf, born Nov 30, 1877. Any of this familiar? I do not have record of them being in Philadelphia, not to say they weren't. I have Theodore born in VT in 1807. Send me pertinent info and I will see if I have some of yours in my database. Mary Ann
