    3. Still looking for more information on my CAULKINS family and affiliated families. Here is some of what I have and some of my questions--- Isaac CAULKINS came from NY and then Hardin Co., KY and bought land as early as 1830 and had a land grants in 1831 and 1836 in Morgan Co. He married (second wife) Susannah STEPHENS/STEPHENSON in Morgan Co. in 1835 and was in Winchester, Scott Co. in 1840 census. What happened to Susannah? Was this a second or third marriage for Susannah? Where was she from? Isaac moved to Marion Co., IA to live with daughter Elizabeth JOHNSON and was a widower in the 1850 census. Isaac's daughter Mary/Polly CAULKINS married John C. RODGERS in Morgan Co. in 1839 and are shown in the 1840 census. What happened to them after that? I know there were many RODGERS in the area. Can anyone tell me where I might look for John and Mary/Polly? Isaac's son William H. CAULKINS lived and farmed in Morgan and Scott Co. for many years 1839-1860s. He married Marietta OLDS in Morgan Co. in 1839. I know nothing about the OLDS family except that she was born in KY or TN---ANY leads would be helpful. William and Marietta aren't found anywhere in the 1870 census but are in the Middle Fork Twp., Ringgold Co., IA in 1880. Where were they in 1870? Isaac's son Nehemiah CAULKINS brought his new wife Rebecca (APPLEGATE) from Clark Co., IN to Morgan Co., where he bought land in 1829, had a school land grant in 1831 and sold land in 1832. It is believed he died between 1832-1838--any proof? Morgan County courthouse has a probate listed for him but can't find the papers. John R. JORDAN married the widow Rebecca CAULKINS---they both lived many years and died in Morgan Co. Nehemiah's son Samuel CAULKINS was born in Morgan Co. in 1830 and died there in 1851. Is there possibly a newspaper article about his death? Is it possible to get a picture of his gravestone in Jacksonville East? He did leave a will at his young age. Nehemiah's other son Silas CAULKINS sold land in Morgan Co. 1848 and in Scott Co. in 1849. He received discharge papers from the Mexican War in Morgan Co. I have quite a lot of information on him---too bad he never married or had children! He led a very interesting life but died a pauper in Los Angeles Old Soldiers' Home in CA in 1903. Isaac's youngest daughter Elizabeth Jane or "Eliza" married William C. JOHNSON in Scott Co. in 1847. The family is in Marion Co., IA in the 1850 census but don't know where they went after that. Any info on the JOHNSON family that would help? I've learned a lot in the last five years but always wanting to learn more. Linda
