I stumbled here looking for information, too. Were you aware that Fredrick Calvin was part Shawnee Indian? Some of the Ashby family was captured down in Kentucky and released by the Treaty of Greenville at Fort Wayne. Anna Ashby and her two daugthers, Sarah and Eliza were held captive for seven years before their release in 1796. I have been trying to gather information ever since. We have a cousin in Kansas City that has photos of Anna with notches removed from her ears. I haven't been able to contact her lately. Let me know if you have the title to the book the Shelburns wrote about the ordeal, or any additional information.
