[1865 IL State Census, Jacksonville Precinct, Morgan Co., IL, p.130]. 1870 Federal Census: Eliza Gray, Jacksonville - Ward 4. 1871 Directory: Grey Mrs. Eliza, (wid) res e end of Morton ave., Jacksonville, Morgan Co., IL. Eliza was living in Mason Co. in the 1880 census (though at least one child, Sarah, was still in Morgan Co. in 1880), and is said to have died 25 Nov 1891 (place unknown). Some of the twelve children may have died in Morgan Co. At least one child (Samuel Elmer Gray) was probably born there (6 Nov., prob. in 1864). Eliza is connected to the other DEATON families who lived in Morgan Co. in the 1800s.
