Surnames: Cox, Chastain Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ih.2ADE/1209 Message Board Post: John Cox and Lydia Chastain, daughter of Elijah, married in Jacksonville February 1830. My best guess is that John is the son of John Cox and Jane Prunty, both from VA who came first to Madison County, Ill and then to Morgan County in 1820, but I have no documentation. There is documentation that they had a daughter named Ethia Linda, who married David Manchester. Ancil Cox also came to Morgan County in 1820 from Madison County, and also was born in Henry County, Va. I'm guessing that these two men were brothers. Does anyone have information to help me document either for or against these hypotheses?
