Surnames: LONGWITH, FRANCIS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ih.2ADE/1160 Message Board Post: I am looking for information on Francis (Frank) Longwith (=Longworth) who grew up in Scott County, Illinois (parents Thomas and Jane Longwith). He moved to Jacksonville, Illinois to attend business school and is mentioned as a Street Commissioner in 1872 in the History of Morgan County. He went on to Quincy in 1878 where he was a Professor at the Gem City Business College and studied for the Adams County Law Bar which he passed in 1886. He is mentioned in the Quincy Illustrated in 1889 as the President of the Chaddock College Board of Trustees in 1887. Does anyone have information as to his family? He married Polly Sappington in Scott County in 1861. Did he have a family in Jacksonville? He did have a wife mentioned in the Quincy census but her name is listed as Mrs. Frank Longwith. Does anyone have information as to where he was buried and if descendents are still alive in the Illinois area? I would appreciate hearing from you. Sincerely, J. Longwith
