Dear Mary Ann, I have some info on a Lydia Hamilton who was (I think) a half sister of Mary Alice Nelms, wife of Robert C. Smith. Lydia died (unmarried) in Bloomington 1937. I have a copy of her will which includes list of her heirs. None of the names in your message are included so she probably is of the other Hamilton family. Let me know if you want a list of these heirs/legatees. Marion Baker, Smith researcher. Mary Ann Kaylor wrote: > Are there any William Hamilton researchers out there (and my kin)? Mary Ann: I think it is very possible that your John or Johnathan W. McDonald is the son of my James K. McDonald and Jeanette Anderson McDonald. His siblings would be Emma, Alice, James, Alva, and Hattie McDonald. I believe that Hattie died at a young age as she is not listed with the family on the 1880 census. I would guess that your Jeanette or Nettie McDonald was named after her grandmother. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Ann Kaylor" <kaylorma@insightbb.com> To: <ILMORGAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 06, 2004 6:45 PM Subject: Re: [ILMORGAN] Family Relationships - McDonald/Anderson/Cole/Smith/Samples > My Reid line married into a McDonald family, but I have little on > them. They had children: Pearl, John, William, Adelia, Hettie m a Haley and Jeanette (Nettie) McDoanld. Adelia married Biege Profit, Nettie married Ernest Francis. I have an ancestor, William Smith married to Maria McDonald (McDaniel) and in the 1850 census Patsy (10) and Marion (9) Samples living with them. In the 1870 Census, Maria McDonald's brother John McDonald and wife Martha are living in the same household as a Theodore Samples family. There must be a connection somewhere but I haven't figured it out. Also, my McDonald family married into an Anderson family. I believe that John McDonald married Martha Anderson, and his brother James McDonald married Jeanette or Jane Anderson. I also believe that Andrew Anderson may be a brother to Martha and and Jeanette, and Andrew married an Elizabeth Cole, the sister of Malinda Cole, who married George McDonald, a brother of the two mentioned above. If anyone has any connections to these families or can confirm any of the above, please do contact me. Thank you very much.
Are there any William Hamilton researchers out there (and my kin)? My William was born 1799 in York Co. PA, migrated to Jacksonville where he died in 1876 and is buried in Jacksonville East Cemetery. His possible brother was David Hamilton who also settled in Jacksonville. There is a John Hamilton in Morgan but he is not kin (so far) to my Hamiltons so not interested in that line. I am interested primarily because I have pictures that were taken latter part of 1800's, early 1900 that are not identified, but are in a Hamilton Photo Album that used to be my Grandmothers. My grandmother was the granddaughter of William Hamilton and Mary Ann (Ann Mary) Sowers Hamilton. I would like to put a name on these pictures, if anyone can help? It could also be that the software that the attachments are coming from is not compatible with your software or format that it is in. That happens a lot with Photo Impressions, I can usually only open if it is in .jpg format. You might check out some of those things to see if it would solve your problem. Hi, I just joined. My father Russell Lee WORKMAN lived in Arenzville but went to school in Meredosia. He graduated from Meredosia Community High School May 1943. He also went to Lakeview School and graduated from 8th grade in May 1939. I would like information about these schools and where I might find pictures about them. Any help would appreciated. It would make it much easier to help you if you provided even a little more information, such as where they lived (and when), children's names, ages (even if approximate), when & where marriied, siblings, etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: <tamshellie@wmconnect.com> To: <ILMORGAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, February 28, 2004 1:13 PM Subject: [ILMORGAN] I need help > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Ih.2ADE/1180 > > Message Board Post: > > I am looking for information on my grandparents, Clarence Martin Roegge and my grandmother all i know is her name had Marcon in it. can anyone please help me i`ve been searching for 3 years, i know both are deseased. > thank you > > > ==== ILMORGAN Mailing List ==== > Contribute your Morgan County ancestors Obit; Probate/Will; Deeds; Bible Records; > Photo's; Pensions; any Misc. items to the Morgan County ILGenWeb Page or to GenConnect > Cluster Boards. > >
