    3. NEW Online on the MAGA Site (Morgan Area Gen. Assoc.): Morgan County: More Naturalizations - this index contains some of the now destroyed records. In the 1960's Morgan received permission from the State to destroy some of these old records. The first file put online sometime ago had 400 some entries of which there are papers for, but many of these new listings, there are not. Please read the header regarding these papers. Greene County: The Index to the 1860 Greene County IL Census is now complete!!! Learning from the 1880, I compiled the 1860 Index the same way and it involved much less Linking and as a result much less time. New biographies in the 1879 Greene Co IL History: Surnames: NORRIS: PATTERSON; PEPPERDINE; SMITH; SPERRY; STEELMAN; We got some much needed rain in central IL tonight. We are close to drought stage, so was welcome although so far it doesn't even amount to 1/2 inch. But something is better than nothing, so the saying goes <g> Happy Searching, Mary Ann

    3. Dear Archie, I was checking my resources at here at home for anything on your Holmes family, and I found a reference in one of my books to a "Daniel Holmes Cemetery southeast of Jacksonville." This reference is to burials that took place there in 1829 and 1846 of Mary and Henry Gilmore. I had never heard of this cemetery before, and wondered if you were aware of it. Maybe it is somehow related to your family. Juli Claussen
