Greetings, Find-a-grave shows that the land for this cemetery was given by Lewis Sheppard, who was also buried there, in 1850.I am interested in finding a copy of this deed, to see whether it might also have been site of a church, of which he wasa member, which could have been called Concord, or Zion. Would appreciate any help. Robert

She had one son, Benjamin Franklin and one daughter, Mary Elizabeth, w ho was born in 1842. There is no mention of Elizabeth after that. Did she die in childbirth? Benjamin married Eliza Williams, widow of William Henry Barber in 1848 in Morgan County. Did she leave Benjamin or did she die? Carol Canham Harker

    3. I'm hoping to contact anyone having information about the Lippert family in and around Morgan County -- Meredosia -- Jacksonville area.  Specifically, I'm looking for the family of my GG Grandmother "Kate" or Catherine Lippert. Born in 1836, she was enumerated in the 1850 census for Morgan County (Meredosia). (I've seen the name(s) spelled "Lippard" and "Katrine" as well.) Unfortunately, the census records provide no clue who her parents were, as she was found living within the household of a couple with the surname of Wimmege. (Perhaps Winnegar) This may or may not be the actual spelling of the surname, as the original document is extremely hard to read. He was listed as a physician, and there were other adults within this same household. It may have been a boarding house. Her heritage was German, and she stated that both of her parents were born in Germany. She spoke mostly German until her death in 1914. Still trying to unravel the mystery of her early life's circumstances and the identity of her parents. Any help is greatly appreciated. . https://www.ancestry.com/boards/localities.northam.usa.states.illinois.counties.morgan/2143/mb.ashx From: Richard Berkheiser Sent: Wednesday, May 30, 2018 9:13 PM To: ilmorgan@rootsweb.com Subject: ([ILMORGAN])Surname Shout Out Hi everyone! 2. My GG Grandfather, John WILSON (b. 1821 in England) is the father of 6 children (all born in MCI), including my G Grandfather and namesake, Thomas Edward Wilson. Besides my G Grandfather, John's other children's names are as follows: William Harden (b. 1857), John (b. 1858), Sarah "Sally" (b. 1860), Charles "Charley" (b. 1863). We believe (no proof though) John's wife is Eliza H. McGOWAN who was born in 1835 in Fleming County, Kentucky. I am looking for any kind of proof. Rumor also has the entire family moving to Missouri to run away from anti-CSA sentiments in Morgan County...making this a very thick "brick wall"...the move would have been after my G Grandfather was born August 4 1865. There has to be some kind of record tying this family together in MCI...just cannot find it! 3. My problem is my 2nd great grandfather John Beeley b.Feb. 19, 1805 in Sheffield, England. He married Dorothy Betney in Sheffield, England. They arrived in USA in 1840 and settled on Beeley Hill between Concord and Arenzville, Illinois. They had six children. Joseph their eldest son farmed and raised cattle there. John died in a well cave in according to family history. I can find nothing on his death. I do not know the date, he seems to have just been gone with no record. I believe it was some time around 1846 or 7 but can find nothing concrete. His wife Dorothy lived until 1880 and died in Arenzville, Illinois ________________________________ From: Richard Berkheiser <ricksbookshelf@gmail.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 30, 2018 9:13:36 PM To: ilmorgan@rootsweb.com Subject: ([ILMORGAN])Surname Shout Out Hi everyone! 2. Stumped on my 3x great grandmother Mary Ann Tate Harrell; b. 25 January 1825, Jacksonville, Morgan County; m. George Clark, 19 November 1841, Morgan County. What has me stumped is the marriage license information. One side lists her as Mary Ann Tate Harrell, the other side lists her as Mary Ann Creel. Granted she may have had a prior marriage but she was only 16 years old so that possibility is somewhat questionable and I have been unable to find any record of an earlier marriage. 3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Laura A. STEVENSON which was taken at the Shively Studio in Decatur, IL. The photograph is dated 26 Apr 1887 and notes that Laura is 3 years old at the time. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Laura and her family: Laura STEVENSON was b. Apr 1884 in Monticello, IL to parents Wilbur F. STEVENSON (1842-1920) and Alice TALLMAN (1850-1929). Laura was one of 5 children born to this couple including, Evan; Ida Schalk; Lydia; Laura; and Mary Elizabeth STEVENSON, all born between 1872 and 1889. Laura married Jonas Joseph William AYRE (1882-1944) and together they had a son, Robert Stevenson AYRE (1912-1997). Her sister Lydia married into the BOGGS Family and died in 1931 in Morgan County, IL and her sister Ida died in 1971 in Scottsdale, AZ. Census records provide the following details: 1900 census of Monticello, IL: Wilber F. STEVENSON, age 51, born Nov 1842, married 29 years, born KY, parents born KY/OH, a Landlord Allie T. STEVENSON, wife, age 49, born Dec 1850, married 29 years, 5 children/5 living, born OH, parents born OH Evan STEVENSON, son, age 27, born Sept 1872, born IL, a Lawyer Lydia STEVENSON, dau, age 18, born Feb 1882, born IL, at School Laura STEVENSON, dau, age 16, born Apr 1884, born IL, at School Mary STEVENSON, dau, age 10, born Jun 1889, born IL, at School Susan FASOA, Mother, age 70, born Feb 1830, a widow, 5 children/3 living, born OH, parents born OH I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be returned to its rightful place, with a family member.
