Will someone do me a favor and contact the Litchfield City hall and see if they have birth certificates archived. When I was born in 1928, the Village Clerk, Gordon Olive, signed the birth certificate. My father Dewey Leon Everts and my Uncle Clarence B Everts were 1 and 3 years old when the census taker came though in 1900. Census listed surname as EVERTES. It is Everts. BIG difference. Montgomery County insists that there is no birth certificate filed with them. Clarence born June 1896, Dewey born June 1898. The County kept the $20 however. But they ARE sending me a birth certificate of an Everts I have never heard of. Ah, bureaucracy at its finest. Rev. Dewey Leon Everts Jr.
