Polley, I was born and raised in Hillsboro, Montgomery Co. Biggest thing around there is Shoal Creek, nothing close to a river. In fact the closet river is probably the Sangamon which is north of there in Sangamon County. Its not much bigger than a decent sized creek. Old Abe used it. Hope this helps you.
