You could borrow the 1865 Illinois census microfilm through your local library. -----Original Message----- From: Kathy Andersen <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Saturday, September 02, 2000 8:48 PM Subject: [ILMONTGO] Montgomery County Resources Can anyone give me suggestions on where to look for ancestors between the 1860 and 1870 census in Montgomery Co? The Illinois State Archives checked probate, military, chancery and marriage records. The only record was marriage register with names and date of marriage. Are there records that would index a person who might not own real property and might be living with another family? The 1860 census is too early and the 1870 is too late. This ancestor appears out of nowhere and disappears the same way. Actually, just in time to be a father, then gone. I'm a little suspicious about that. Can someone give me some guidance?? Thanks!
