Hello, My maiden name was Dorothy Osborn. I grew up in Butler, Illinois and graduated from Hillsboro High School. There is going to be a reunion at the Ware's Grove Church on October 8 and many people from out of town will be attending. In preparation for this event my sisters and I are preparing a booklet compiled of letters written by our great grandmother Lestina Brigham Ware. The letters cover a time period from 1849 to 1860. Lestina lived in the Ware's Grove area of Montgomery County. She came to the area as a new bride and died there on February 21,1872 a week after giving birth to twins. The twins didn't live a year. Her husband David Smith Ware was left with a farm and 6 living children. In these letters Lestina mentions a Dr. White of Butler as tending to their medical needs. We have been unable to find out anything about this man. Has anyone ever heard of him or does anyone have any ideas of where I might find out who Dr. White was? We are trying to explain who everyone in the letters is and tell something about them. Any help greatly appreciated. You can reach me at [email protected]
