Dorothy, No, I don't believe you know me. I begin researching about 1974 and started with a 10 page descendancy of the Busby family someone had compiled in the 1920's I believe. It didn't have too much more than names. I located Jerry Sammons through a phone directory for the Montgomery Co. area. Jerry & I corresponded for a short while before my grandmother and I had an opportunity to travel to Illinois in May 1974 and got to meet some of our "distant cousins". Jerry and his wife were extremely hospitable, had us over for dinner along with his sister Helen. (I don't believe we met Jim, but that was a long time ago.) He also took us to the old "Busby Farm" not too far from the quarry where he worked. We exchanged Christmas cards for many years, but I have not been in touch with any of that family for quite a long while and found out a few years ago by checking the SSDI that Jerry had passed away. I haven't checked the SSDI recently for Helen or either of their spouses and don't know if they are still with us. Is the Joyce Busby you just saw Joyce Rae Busby, daughter of Leland Ware Busby? I would be interested in any info you may have on the Busby's. And would be willing to share information with Joyce or any other Busby's who may be interested as well.
