Tiss, No this isn't the same Catherine. Mine was born in 1840 and married John Scherer in 1858. There were lots of Cresses in that area. I even saw where a Cress married a Cress. So there seemed to be different branches of Cresses but probably all directly related. Sorry I can't help you on your Catherine.
