    3. Jerry, thank you so much for your detailed reply to my WEAVER inquiry. I haven't been able to reply due to an setended illness. I'm still mostly bed-ridden, but have to let you know my appreciation. Arietta WEAVER was my grandmother. She died last fall in Hillsboro, IL, while living with her daughter Sharon. I agree with most of the info you have, but her first marriage (and father of all her children) was Charlie Clarence ODLE (aka GRANACHER?) Her husbands in order after grandpa were: Cliff Hapner, Mr. Berry, Ed Houlihan, Carl Rufus, and Harold Jackson. I can't get to my files rightt now, but you can find some details on these web pages. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~quixote/Odle.html http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~quixote/Arietta.htm Contact me in a few weeks when I hope to be able to be up and around again and I can help you with more (and update my webpages). -- Michael Odle Personal Web Site http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~quixote/ Post-Polio Syndrome Web Site pprg@geocities.com www.pprg.org

    3. Thanks--just searched that and no luck on my Terrys. Found some but not the ones I had hoped for. My husband's g-g- grandmother was the first woman buried in Honey Bend Cemetery in 1871 so they must have been close to that area. I will keep searching.

John Corwin Roberts, my gr gr grandfather lived on a farm about 2 1/2 miles East of Irving, just about where you said Bost Hill is located. His brother, Peter, lived on a adjoining farm. It is Peter's family that is buried there, at least his first family. John C.'s family were buried in Grantham > >When Mary Hagler came to Bond County she was married to Henry Oliver File. >They were married 25 May 1811 Cabarrus Co., NC. Abraham Anthony (2) and wife are buried next to Henry O. File and >Mary Hagler Anthony File at the File Cemetery, Bond County. > Thanks for this info. The problem is that my cousin was unable to find any evidence that Abraham Anthony & Mary Hagler were ever married. I have copies of some Wills, a Bastardy Bond and the marriage license application of Mary (Polly) Hagler & Henry File .on May 25, 1811. Cabarrus Co., N.C. The Bastardy Bond on the 3rd Monday April 1806 "ordained by the Court thaat John Heagler, Leonard Hartsell & Samuel McCurdy be admitted into bond in the sum of $200 to keep the County of Cabarrus, free and indemnified from all costs and charges in and about the maintainence of a base born child begot on the body of Molly Heagler, a single woman of said county of which Abraham Hartsell is the reputed father" This does not mention the Anthony surname and it doesn't name the child, but it is dated April , 1806 and Abraham was born on July 12, 1806.. Apparently there were two John Haglers, one in Cabarrus and one in Wilkes. Whether they were related or not I don't know. I have the Wills for both, but neither mention a daughter. Are you interested in the Haglers, Anthony & Files? BTW, John C. Roberts was in "F" Co. 126th Infantry. I have more info on the Hagler, but it looks like a mess. None is entered into my files yet. 3. Me again. In the 1810 census for Cabarrus County, NC Henry File is listed on Image 9 Ancestry.com. His family is listed as 2 males under 10 (Daniel and Moses), 1 male 10-15 (George F.), 1 male 26-44 (Henry Oliver), 1 female under 10 (Sarah) and 1 female 26-44 (Margaret "Peggy"). John Hagler is but doors down from him. Undoubtedly Mary "Polly" Hagler Anthony is back home after the death of her husband. The census reads: 1 male under 10 (Abraham Anthony), 3 males 16-25, 1 male 26-44 (John), 1 female 16-25 (Mary) and 1 female 26-44 (mom). There is no staff with the Historical Society to do lookups. 3. Bost Hill Cemetery is on Fillmore Rd...or the Hillsboro/Fillmore blacktop, maybe a couple of miles on SE of the intersection of Coffeen Rd and Fillmore Rd. The only stop sign between Hillsboro and Fillmore. It's on the south side of the road. Irving Cemetery aka Bald Hill is to the west of Irving just to the outside of town on the north side of the road. If you go into Irving from Rt 16 (headed toward Hillsboro) turn right and cross the RR tracks, go on 2 more blocks and turn left (sorry can't remember the name of the street). In just 2 or 3 more blocks you will be going out of town. There is a trailer on the right, then a house, then the road curves right a little and it crosses a small creek and then not far you are at the cemetery. You go in on the first road and come out on the 2nd. The sign is near the road and says Irving Cemetery. When Mary Hagler came to Bond County she was married to Henry Oliver File. They were married 25 May 1811 Cabarrus Co., NC. Prior to her marriage to Henry she was married to Abraham Anthony. They married abt 1805. The younger Abraham was born 12 Jul 1806. The elder Abraham died in 1807 or 1808. Abraham Anthony (2) and wife are buried next to Henry O. File and Mary Hagler Anthony File at the File Cemetery, Bond County. 3. I can give you a bit more information about Frank Roach. I found he and Paralee on the 1880 census in Hillsboro, Montgomery County, page 251C. They are listed by their initials. He is F.M. Roach, age 32, farmer IL IL IL. She is P. J. Roach age 24, keeping house, IL IL IL. Then Paralee remarries William Weaver in 1883 as you said. Paralee then remarries Hiram R. Alexander on 2/9/1886 in Bond County. They are on the 1900 census in Centralia, Marion County, Illinois, page 63A. Hiram Alexander Aug 1853 46 Married 14 years IL IL IL common laborer Parilee " Mar 1856 44 " " 7 children, 3 alive IL VA IL Illinois " June 1890 9 IL IL IL Chas " Feb 1898 2 IL IL IL Elmer Weaver stepson Jan 1885 15 IL IL IL common laborer----this would indicate he is indeed a son of William Weaver and not Frank Roach. I can tell you that Isaac Weaver had a son named William on the 1850 census in Montgomery County. Isaac was the only Weaver in Montgomery County in 1850. Here is the complete family: Isaac Weaver 48 farmer $100 TN Abigail " 44 NC E. Nancy " 22 TN Hannah " 19 TN Martha " 17 TN William " 14 TN Adeline " 10 IL George " 8 IL In 1860, William(23) is living in the household of Eliza Alexander in Hillsboro. She is 30 yrs. old, born in TN. She has 2 children--Hiram(7), and Edward(5). Eliza is probably William's older sister. There is a marriage record on IRAD for Eliza Weaver to Isaac Alexander on 6/13/1850. I don't think this is the right William Weaver. I could not find him after the 1860 census. Another interesting item seems to be the connection to this Hiram Alexander though. He appears to be the 3rd husband of Paralee. The ages match and there are no other Hiram Alexanders of that age on any of the previous censuses. Lynne

    3. Dear Jean Wallace: I also have family in Irving, IL. They moved there from Jackson Co., TN around 1863 and some of the descendants are still in the area. I made a trip there in June, 2002. In addition to St. John's Cemetery, there is another cemetery with an old section. It is now called Irving Cemetery but was originally called Bald Hill Cemetery back in the 1800's. I didn't find the caretaker for this cemetery but would like to very much since my great grandparents are buried there. I don't think it has been indexed yet. St. John's Cemetery has been indexed by the Montgomery Co. Genealogical Society so they might be of some help to you. Also, there is the Irving Area Historical Museum which has lots of local information which I didn't find elsewhere. If you can make a visit to the area, it's worth it! 3. I now have a question. Are the Sides and Seitz and Sights all the same family?? Jacob Sights (Seitz) (b-1755 Ger, d-1849 Irving IL) is buried at Hopewell (aka Grantham Cem) at Irving. He was a Revolutionary War soldier and the father of Franey (Frances) Sights (b-1800 NC, d-1877 Irving, IL) who married James Grantham and Elizabeth Sights (b-1802 NC, d-1853 Irving, IL) who married John (Jack) Bostick. Elizabeth is buried at McCord Cem and Franey (and James) are buried near her father in Hopewell Cemetery. Linda Barricklow-Collins I am now curious, is Catherine Seitz/Sights a sister to Jacob Sights? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joyce & Ed Thomas" <ejthomas@i1.net> To: <ILMONTGO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 10, 2003 9:02 PM Subject: [ILMONTGO] SIDES > Dear Jean, I saw your message on IL message board. > > I have a SIDES in my family.
