This came from Mr. Sanders of Litchfield the Whitten line is in the Fayette Facts but this is only information given on this family. Elisha Whitten and Sarah Greathouse were married in KY he is the brother to Easton Whitten both sons of Elijah Whitten and Charity Duckett. Charity Duckett was the sister of Elizabeth Duckett who married Levi Casey who lived in Shelby Co IL. Tim

Wouldn't you know IRAD would be down when I wanted to recheck marriage info. I was able to look up James Kirk on the 1850 census and he is married to a Margaret. This Margaret is 40 years old making her born around 1810. This matches Margaret Whitten, not Margaret Renfro. Margaret Renfro was born in 1820 according to everything I can find. Children on the census were Sarah 6, John 5, Elizabeth 3, and Mary 2. There is also a Sinai Kirk age 18 in the household and I have no idea who she is. Lynne

The L. Robertson on the stone with Hiram is his third wife--Lutharia Harris. I have her as the daughter of John R. Harris and Elizabeth Nave. I do not have a death date for her. Lynne

I thought it was Martha Casey who married James Kirk in 1843. Martha died and James married Margaret Renfro in 1845 and then Margaret died and he married Fanny Prater in 1861. Tim - I have both Wilmoth and Hiram buried in the "Old Casey Cemetery" in rural Ramsey, which I believe is Fayette County. The Fayette County Cemetery Inscription, Volume I, shows them, their son, John Robertson, buried there and also says that an L. Robertson, b. 8 March 1849 is engraved on the same stone with H. G. Robertson. Can't imagine who this is unless it is a sibling of H. Holloway and Siner Casey have 6 children on the 1870 census--Samuel (17), Mary (15), James (14), Lyman (12), Margaret (8), and Joseph (6). Additional information on Margaret Aminda Prater. She was born October 11, 1861 and died Feb. 9, 1904. She married James Bazil Jerden. James born March 16, 1854 and died Jan. 14, 1928. They are both buried in Liberty Cemetery, Fayette COunty. 4 children=Jennie, Elmer, Carlos, and Raymond. I would be interested in dates on Holloway and Siner's headstones if you have it. Lynne

Tim: I have Jarrett's parents as Joseph G Wright and Sarah Angeline Reavis. Jarret's bd is 3/10/1819 and his dd is 3/2/1890 I am not sure where he is buried. (I got this information from a file in the Litchfield Library.) I have been able to prove these are ancestors to mine.
