Genealogists, particularly those interested in the use of technology, will meet in St. Louis from 22-24 January 2004 for NGS GENTECH 2004. December 1 is the deadline for the advance registration discount. Since 1993, GENTECH has been the national conference for people interested in GENealogy and TECHnology. In 2002 GENTECH strengthened its infrastructure and expanded its role by becoming a division of the National Genealogical Society. Each year the conference has featured a panel of nationally known speakers who have addressed themselves to every aspect of the use of computer and Internet technology to support genealogical research - to meet the needs of advanced users as well as those just beginning to use technology in their research. This year there will be a special Librarian's Pre-Conference at NGS GENTECH Thursday, January 22, 2004. Details of this special Pre-Conference are at: www.slcl.lib.mo.us/slcl/sc/gentech04/precon-schedule.htm. Information on the entire NGS GENTECH conference can be found at: http://www.eshow2000.com/ngsgentech/register_now.cfm or at the St. Louis Genealogical Society website: www.stlgs.org/gentech2004 John Konvalinka, CGRS(sm), CGL(sm) www.konvalinka.com CGRS (Certified Genealogical Records Specialist) and CGL (Certified Genealogical Lecturer) are service marks of the Board for the Certification of Genealogists <http://www.BCGcertification.org> used under license by certified persons after periodic competency evaluations.

To whoever else was needing a lookup in Sander's list today, in addition to the McKinsey lookup---I think I accidently deleted your message. Would you please re-send it to me? Thanks, Juli
In a recent message on this board, Juli Claussen mentions Walter R. Sander's list of "Settlers in Montgomery County, Illinois Previous to 1840." Would it be possible to check this list for the names: BRADFORD and WILLIAMSON? John WILLIAMSON married Mrs. Rhody GWYNN BRADFORD in 1842. I would be so appreciative of any information which might be found, especially on John WILLIAMSON. Thanks so much, D. Hook
Juli, Does Sanders' list have any Mckinsey's (all spellings applicable) on it? Am still looking for any information on ALexander McKinsey whos daughter Frances Jane married William Vaughn in 1835 in Montgomery Co. Dear Don and other Davis researchers; Walter R. Sander's helpful list of "Settlers in Montgomery Co., Ill previous to 1840" has many Davis' listed. His list indicates birth place, approx. birth date, and counties or states the family lived in prior to Montgomery Co. He garnered this info from all the earliest Montg. Co. records available to him, including Bible recs. An asterik indicates the family was found in another county after being listed once in Montg. Co. Christian Co. was separated from Mont. in 1839, hence some of these folks did not actually relocate. *Davis, Moses, b. 1807 VT Joseph, b. 1810 SC Ira, b. 1807 NY Nancy, b. 1810 SC William, b. 1810 SC *Daniel, b. 1800-10 James, b. 1796 SC John, b. 1787 VA; to TN Israel, b. 1760-70; d. between 1/7 and 2/23/1837; from NY *George, b. 1780-90 *Israel, b. 1780-90 *Jacob, b. 1810-20 *Jonas, b. 1790-1800 Good luck researching, Juli Claussen ----- Original Message ----- From: <DGD336@aol.com> To: <ILMONTGO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 28, 2003 1:47 PM Subject: [ILMONTGO] James Knox Davis > Hello, > > I am trying to find any available information on my great grandfather, James > Knox Davis, who was born in Illinois in 1846.
