Hi Donna, So far I haven't ran into the name Heie Janssen, but you never know. I have a William Smith, born Aug 1853 that married Mary Howen in Christian Co. IL. they were married 9 Apr 1884. In the late 1880's they moved to Lyon Co., Iowa. I don't know who his parents were. With all this talk about Davises I just remembered my Aunt's maiden name was Davis. I know nothing more except her mother's name was Sue. The family lived "out in the country" went DeRette, my aunt was in high school because she boarded with a family in Litchfield for the school year. Many people did that.. Can anyone tell me who the owner of Ponto's Tavern on the corner in Witt was before Ponto owned it. Was the name Chervinko? My husband was getting his glasses adjusted in Wheaton, IL today and the mans name was Chervinko, he said his grandparents owed a Tavern on the corner in Witt. My husband who is 66 remembers the Tavern as being Ponto's from the time his Komar uncles took him there at about age 11.
