I graduated with Mary Catherine Hilger. She was one of the Catholic girls. I'm not sure where she lived, but I would guess S. Litchfield. We all tended to live around St. Mary's Church. LOL Nice little Irish girls. LOL We graduated from Litchfield H.S. in 1952 Dora insists that she is looking for Pilgers, but I can't remember ever hearing the name in Litchfield. Has any one else? Joyce
I remember a Catherine Hilger, who lived on S. State street. She was a lovely, jolly, gray headed lady. She was Catholic. A widow when I knew her. This was late 1950's. Hope this might help. Chris
Dora, why did you contact Madison Co.? I thought they lived in Montgomery Co. They probably will all charge something to search for what you want. I had hoped to get up to Litchfield last week, but we got snowed in. I don't know when we would be up there again. I wouldn't mind going to Hillsboro when we go up there, but as I said, I don't know when it will be. I still can't figure out where I may have put those records. Most of my family lived in So. Litchfield, so I know I wouldn't have thrown them out. I'll keep looking because now I'm worried too. LOL Where do you live...any where near Montgomery Co? Joyce
Hello Tiss, The name I am serching is Catherine (Bauer) Pilger married to my GGpa between late 1919 and died by late 1921. Her relative who gave to her or had co-ownership with a Jacob Bauer. I just heard from the Genealogy society of Madison. Should I respond or wait to hear from you? They will search for a price. Hope to hear from you...Catholic. yes probably was since the rest of the family was at that time. Dora, I'm terrible sorry that I could only find part of the papers I have. You were asking about the history of the land your ancestor. I could only find North Litchfield and the Hood-Millers Addition. It must be in South Litchfield. I'll keep looking, but it may be a while before I find it. Hi, I am trying to find out whether the following people are from my Weers family, the Weers/Weirs may have also used the Penning surname for awhile, as it was their Stepfathers surname, & was wondering if anyone has any info on the following couples, that could help me prove or disprove my theory. This is the only info I have on them at the moment, the 1st 2nd entries are marriage entries found on IRAD, They were married on the same date, maybe a double wedding, & the last entry is a death date. Yes, it was in Section 19 of East Fork Twp. The prison is on the south side of Rte 185, and the County Farm is (now 27 acres) immediately south of the prison, along the west edge of the section. The prison area was once a part of the farm. Bob At 06:38 AM 1/22/2004, you wrote: >All the info I have on the Montgomery County Home is that it was in >Eastfork.
