Hi Judy, My mother's family all came from Montgomery County after they arrived from Germany. What is available in Hillsboro? I imagine that there are birth, marriage, and death records as well as land records. Is there anything else that I should be considering as I compile my information for a request. Do you know what the charges are for these records? My grandfather had 16 brothers and sisters so the list could be rather long. Would it be better for me to snail mail information to you or email it? Thanks a million, Donna
My uncle by marriage was Wilbur TRAYLOR who married 1935 in Fayette Co, IL my dad's sister Esther Lucille HIMES. Any relation? Hi Judy, I would also like some help. I, like Donna, would have to get my stuff together to find out what I really need and would like to know if I could ask you a little later. We are having company at the present time and I won't have time for a week or so to see where I'm at. I have Traylors in some of my lines, also. I live in GA at the present time, but lived in the Bond area for 40 years. We don't get back too often and usually have so many to visit, that I don't get much research time. I am in no hurry, and don't want to overload you. Thanks for any help, Phyllis D.
Hi Judy I know you are receiving many requests. Even so, I hope you will give me some help also. I will get my info together and get back to you. Do you prefer the request to your email address or to the maillist? Pat
Am searching for information concerning the families of Louis SCHNEIDER, Andrew Michael "Mike" QUICK and wife Martha "Mattie" Elizabeth, and Frances Genite COLE, all in the Nokomis area from about 1890 to 1920. I have much incomplete family information on the SCHNEIDERs. Dave Sarles, Houston, TX
Hello. I live in Phoenix, and I am searching for information (obits or cemetery information) on William Henry FERDON-had lived in Macoupin county and crossed over to Montgomery about 1870. He died before 1880. Also, I have death dates of his son Charles (4-5-1898--buried at Woodburn Cemetery, Macoupin county) and his wife Martha A. (died 3-15-1901; unknown where buried). When the family moved from Macoupin, they settled in Litchfield. Can you help? Also, a strange coincidence: Elmwood Cemetery in Montgomery has a "Mrs. Ferdon" buried there with a death date of April 16, 1876, but I cannot pinpoint who she was. Any information or referrals would be appreciated. Thank you. Patricia M. Hansen 3920 East Monterosa Street Phoenix, AZ 85018

Nina Sure I'm familiar with Schram, that's where my Dad's family raised most of their kids(Cameron). I know most of the names you mentioned are on the Traylor side. The only connection I have besides myself between the names you listed and the Camerons is my Great Grandma Cameron was Mary Nancy Green born in Logan County and Everett Cameron married Sarah Justine Traylor (both Everett and Justine died in the early 1900's in Moweaquea during the flu epedmic leaving two young children, George and Mary ). I'm in the process of working on this so I really don't have alot of info yet but if you can tell me anything I'd love to know what you have. I'll be glad to try and connect what I can for you. Hope to hear more from you. I won't charge anything except the cost of copies. If you let me know which obits you're looking for I'll try to find them and get them off to you by snail mail Tues or Wed. Judy I grew up in Schram City, just outside of Hillsboro. As you probably know. My mother told me we were kin to the Camerons and Traylors, so when I saw your name it really interested me. Some of our others names are: Thacker, Snow, Green, White, Linville, Hampton. Do you know of a connection. [email protected] Nina
Judy, I am also interested in finding a researcher to help locate my family information in Montgomery County, and am willing to pay any fee you require. I will be visiting Illinois (for research) late this year, and would like to get a head start. If you can help, please let me know. Judy, I would like to also get some information and would be happy to pay a fee. I live in Georgia and do not have the luxury of going into Hillsboro to research. Let me know if you are available. Thanks! Polley Lawrence
Judy Thanks What do you charge? I am after some obits. I am leaving to go to Hllsboro on June 29. Do you think that you could have the information to me before I leave or would I need to stop and see you and pick it up when I get into town? Are you very familiar with the work that Mr. Sanders did and left at the Litchfield Library? I have some of his information but working on my Davis line is very confusing. I have actually studied 3 other Davis lines and have been able to eliminate them as part of my line. I am looking at Davis, Caulk, Holbrook, and possibly Nussman and Petrea. I look forward to hearing from you. Bob Drennan Judy Traylor wrote: > Hi Bob, I can do some research in Montgomery County for you. Hello Everyone, Does anyone know how I can get ahold of a copy of the book HISTORY OF BOND AND MONTGOMERY COUNTIES, 1882? Are there reprints out there somewhere? Also, does anyone have John Harrison in their family tree? I am interested in him because he was married to Julia Claussen, who is buried in Traylor Cem, and the stone says 1827-1896. She is the only Harrison in the cemetery. And I am always on the look out for any mention of any Claussen/Clossen/Clawsen/etc. in early Montgomery Co. Thanks! Juli Claussen
Dear Michael, I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family at this very difficult time. I read the story of Steve you have posted on your web page and can truly say, I understand what you are going through. I lost my Uncle in much the same way (to depression and alcoholism) in April of last year. He lived in a trailer in Crockett Texas (or as he referred to it as "The Piney Woods"). After his death, he was cremated and his remains scattered in the woods he loved so much. May God bless you and your family. And when you are blue just remember he has gone to a better place and is at peace.
