    3. Marilyn; I apologize for taking so long to answer your e-mail. I have a computer that can't read my mind and has one of its own at times. The problem is that there is a loose nut on the keyboard. Anyway, back to reality. Records show that Manassah's parent were in NJ. when Manassah was born. I had thought perhaps he went there as a veteran of 1812 war and picked up his veteran benefit for land in Illinois and departed soon after Manassah was born. If it was Hosea from Georgia. That might explain the absence of family history as to family origin. I'll check out your information. I do appreciate your help. 1. [ILMONTGO] Weerts and Detmers
    2. Pat, I have checked the yearbooks for both names and found neither one. I did, however, find a Eugene Wertz record of marriage in Coles Cty. Illinois for March 31, 1880, to a Minnie May Keeley. (I have a publication of early marriages that was published by the Coles County Genealogical Society.) Don't know if this would be of any help to you. In researching my KIESLAR line - I've come up with more than twenty spellings! Lois

    3. David, a copy is attached of the message I have earlier showing the index page numbers to find Hosea Camp in Bond county, Illinois in 1820. Pat Hansen There are no Camps listed in the 1820-1860 Montgomery county Federal censuses for Illinois. However, in 1820 there shows one in Bond county (page 011 and 018) and 1860 in Peoria county (page 798). Could you have had him in the wrong county, perhaps? 2. Dear Lois I noticed your message to the list. I have a photograph taken of a lady, man and a child and another of two children taken in Nokomis. I dont know who they are , I can only only guess it may be a Florence maud Jones who married a Harry and moved from Wellington Shropshire to Illinois around 1909. The children may well have attended school in Illinois but at the moment I dont know their names. I may come back to you if I ever find out their names. Seems strange seeing your name Lois, I have a Lois Jones who married Bill Edwards again in wrexham wales and moved to Illinois in 1909. Lois had a daugher Lily Maud who changed her name to Lilian and she had a daughter Lois. They lived for a time in Chicago and Witt. 3. Does anyone know the parents of Jennie Gerlach born 5 September 1895 and died 15 September 1987 in Raymond, Montgomery County? I have a relative named Jennie M. Travers born March 1871 in Montgomery Co., IL who married Oscar Gerlach b. 1873 Macoupin Co., IL on 31 May 1904. Oscar Gerlach was a widower with a young son. No record has been found that Jennie Travers Gerlach had any children. Is Jennie Gerlach related to Oscar Gerlach [his father was Michael Gerlach]?

    1. Re: [ILMONTGO] Camps
    2. Dave- Using the Ancestry Census index Hosea Camp is listed in the Bond County Federal Census 1820 (p.11) in Ripley Township, and 1820 State Census (p.18). He appear again in 1860 Federal Census in Peoria County in Brimfield Township. You should get a look at these census pages and see who else he is listed with if you are looking for other family members. There is also a Hosea Camp listed in the War of 1812 Muster Rolls. Also a Georgia Regiment. A Hosea H. Camp is listed in the Civil War Muster Rolls ( Co C, 29th Mississippi Infantry). If he were serving in the Civil War, outside of Illinois, this would explain his absence in the census for a time. Perhaps family in the South? Manisa Camp is listed in the 1850 Federal Census Montgomery County, 22nd District SW Part (p110). There is a CAMP family message board at Ancestry.com. It is free to access. These other databases I got info from because I subscribe to membership. Hope this helps. Marilyn

    3. Lynne; 1820 Census does show Hosea T. Camp in Illinois. Can't remember exactly where, though. I think it was Mongomery County. Since he was the only one listed in 1820, I was trying to establish his relationship, if any to Manisa Camp. Hosea in Georgia is a possibility but our records show Manisa grew up and was married in Mongomery County, IL. He, Hosea, could not possibly be the same unless he left Georgia and went to IL., spent the greater part of his life there then returned to Goergia where he died. I'm looking for a downline who might know something about the parents of Manisa. Thanks for your help. Let me know if you come up with anything. I have found that asking at the query boards for the county usually gives good results. Good luck. I wonder where he was on the 1840 and 1850 census?
