    3. Because of early changes in county delineations, I am confused about where to seek very early records, not that doing so would be simple even if I were certain where they are held, if there are any, which I doubt. So you see my problem. Does anyone know where there MIGHT be a record of a marriage made some time between 1797 and 1801? My clues are: 1) that the two names are Elizabeth BADGLEY and John STARR; 2) that the couple is said to have lived "in the Bottom near Eagle Cliff;" and 3) that that a family document states that Elizabeth was married by her father (Reverend David BADGLEY, a very early Baptist minister) in his home (in 1804 he bought land about three miles north of present-day Waterloo). No definite information is on the CD-ROM of Illinois marriages. Would old Baptist records be somewhere? Glad of any suggestions. Thanks, Nora Tocus
